Nel match di Champions League tra Newcastle e Milan Nick Pope non ci sarà. Il portiere inglese ha infatti subito un infortunio alla spalla che lo terrà ai box per 4 o 5 mesi. Il Newcastle sfiderà invece i rossoneri il prossimo 13 dicembre, tra meno di 10 giorni, e di conseguenza l’allenatore dei Magpies dovrà fare a meno del suo estremo difensore.
Pessime notizie in casa Newcastle, quindi, con l’allenatore Eddie Howe che perde uno dei suoi giocatori migliori. Stabilmente nel giro della nazionale inglese, infatti, Pope è un portiere estremamente affidabile, come dimostrato anche nella precedente sfida di Champions League contro il Milan. Al suo posto si scalda quindi il secondo portiere, Martin Dubravka.
Aumentano quindi gli indisponibili del Newcastle, che oltre a Botman dovranno fare a meno anche del loro miglior portiere. Per il Milan quella contro gli inglesi sarà una partita fondamentale, da vincere a ogni costo. Dopo che i rossoneri hanno perso contro il Borussia Dortmund, infatti, ora avranno bisogno di un miracolo per superare il turno e raggiungere gli ottavi di Champions League. Oltre a essere costretti a vincere contro il Newcastle, ora la squadra di Pioli dovrà sperare che il BVB batta il PSG, impresa tutt’altro che semplice.
