Alle 21.00 Chelsea-Milan a Stamford: per i rossoneri è un test di maturità. Londra riabbraccia Tomori e Giroud e strizza l’occhio a Rafa Leao.
A una domanda tra tante il Milan dovrà rispondere questa sera a Stamford Bridge. Sei davvero diventato grande? L’esame campionato gli uomini di Stefano Pioli lo hanno ampiamente superato con la conquista dello scudetto: ora in Italia i rossoneri sono squadra di fascia altissima, temuta da tutti, ma in Europa manca ancora molta strada. Il test di Champions League contro il Chelsea delle 21.00 (in Italia, le 20.00 a Londra) dirà parecchio in termini di divario tecnico tra le due formazioni. Non dirà tutto ma indicherà una via. Contro Salisburgo e Dinamo Zagabria il responso non ha chiarito pienamente quanto questo Milan possa spingersi oltre il group stage, il momentaneo primo posto nel Girone E però ha dato fiducia e trasmesso sensazioni positive.
L’emergenza delle ultime settimane, causa infortuni, non aiuta di certo Stefano Pioli. A Stamford sarà un Milan in parte rivisitato: Krunic è dato a destra sulla trequarti con De Ketelaere centrale; sulla stessa fascia di Rade, più arretrato Dest sostituirà il capitano Davide Calabria, con Kalulu al centro della difesa insieme a Tomori. Tomori è l’ex, così come Giroud che a Londra ha lasciato splendidi ricordi. Gli occhi in Inghilterra però saranno puntati soprattutto su Rafa Leao, dichiarato oggetto dei desideri dei Blues.
Anche per il portoghese stasera è una prova di spessore, di quelle che possono svoltare una carriera o quasi. In Europa Leao punta alla vetta più alta di tutte, il sogno sarebbe conquistarla nel giro di una manciata di anni con il Milan, ma il destino è pronto a disegnare clamorosi scenari. Stamford potrebbe stregarlo. Il rinnovo è ancora lontano, Maldini è al lavoro ma i tempi si sono ulteriormente dilatati. Il rischio di perdere Rafa in estate è molto concreto ma Pioli non ci deve pensare. Sul fronte mercato la sfida tra Milano-Londra per ora la sta vincendo il Diavolo, un braccio di ferro tesissimo che probabilmente continuerà a lungo. Questa sera la missione però è un’altra e si sposta sul campo: far capire al Chelsea, campione d’Europa appena due stagioni fa, che il grande Milan, sette volte sull’Olimpo, è tornato a casa.
